
Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, decided to reduce the price of bus tickets designated for transporting the public to the headquarters of the Cairo International Book Fair to become only 10 pounds per trip.
The Governor of Cairo indicated that a fleet of Public Transport Authority buses will be provided to serve visitors to the 57th session of the Cairo International Book Fair, which will be held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, at the Egypt International Convention and Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement during the period from January 21 to February 3, 2026.
The Governor of Cairo indicated that the Cairo Public Transport Authority will provide 60 buses, which can be increased, to serve visitors to the book fair, covering most areas of Cairo, in addition to the current lines crossing the fair.
Major General Essam Al-Sheikh, head of the Public Transport Authority, explained that these buses will place a “Book Fair Service” sign on them, pointing out that buses will be intensified on the lines that witness demand for the fair in order to reduce any crowding within the Book Fair transportation, in addition to reducing the transit time.
The head of the Public Transport Authority indicated that it was agreed to allocate 7 special service lines to transport citizens and exhibition goers on the authority’s buses from Abdel Moneim Riad Square, passing through Ramses, then Abbasiya, Al-Azhar University, Al-Mushir Corridor, and the Book Fair. This line serves 10 cars. The second line starts from Shubra Roundabout, then Shubra Street, passing through Ahmed Helmy Square, then Ramses Street, Al-Abbasiya, the Railway Club, Al-Azhar University, Al-Marshal Corridor, then the Book Fair, and this line serves 10 cars.
As for the third line, it starts from New Nozha, passing through Al-Hejaz Square, then the Seven Buildings, Makram Ebeid, Mustafa Al-Nahhas, Al-Manhal, Al-Wafa, and Al-Amal, all the way to the exhibition. This line serves 8 cars. The fourth line starts from Al-Amiriyah, passing through Al-Matariyya Square, Al-Helmeya, then Ain Shams Girls College, Hisham Barakat Square, the Seventh District, the Embassy District, and the Book Fair. This line serves 7 cars.
The fifth line starts from Giza Square, then Cairo University, passing through Al-Qasr Al-Aini, Al-Sayyeda Aisha, the highway, Al-Azhar University, and the Book Fair. This line serves 10 cars. The sixth line starts from Saqr Quraish, passing through Carrefour Maadi, then the Wadi Degla Club, the Ring Road, and Al-Mushir Corridor, all the way to the Book Fair. This line serves 7 cars.
As for the seventh line, it starts from Al-Mazalat, then Saray Al-Qubba, passing through Roxy, Al-Sabaa Buildings, the Eighth District, Al-Wafa, Al-Amal, Al-Musheer Corridor, and the exhibition. This line serves 8 cars.
