Major General Mohamed Alwan, Governor of Assiut, held an expanded meeting at the governorate’s general office, to develop the features of the action plan for the next stage, and review the executive position on a number of vital files, most notably the legalization of state-owned lands, reconciliation of building violations, and the implementation of the investment plan for the fiscal year 2025/2026, in addition to following up on the projects of the presidential initiative “A Decent Life,” within the framework of the directives of the political leadership and achieving sustainable development goals in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The meeting witnessed the presence of Dr. Mina Imad, Deputy Governor, accountant Adly Abu Aqeel, General Secretary, Khaled Abdel Raouf, Assistant General Secretary, heads of centers and districts, and directors of relevant departments and electronic work systems.
The governor began the meeting by stressing that the next stage requires a clear-cut implementation plan, based on speed of completion, accuracy of follow-up, and resolving the accumulated files, stressing that the files of legalization and reconciliation represent a top priority during the coming period, because they have a direct connection to the rights of the state and the achievement of urban discipline.
Major General Muhammad Alwan stressed that the plan for the next stage is based on discipline, working in a team spirit, and speedy decision-making, with the intensification of field campaigns in the streets and squares, each within its scope, to bring about a tangible improvement in the cleanliness files and the removal of occupancy, noting that the criterion of true success is what the citizen feels on the ground in terms of services, discipline, and quality of life, with the continuation of holding periodic meetings to follow up on performance and ensure the achievement of the governorate’s goals during the coming period.
During the meeting, the Governor of Assiut directed the need to complete the examination of legally completed legalization requests without delay, while intensifying work to decide on the remaining requests in accordance with the regulating legal frameworks, in order to achieve a balance between preserving the state’s right and facilitating procedures for serious citizens. He also stressed the continuation of monitoring work through the spatial variables system, and immediately dealing with any new infringements or violations, and removing them in the cradle, with periodic follow-up of the sites from which the violations were removed, to prevent the violations from returning again. Others, stressing that the law is applied to everyone without exception.
Regarding the 2025/2026 investment plan, the governor confirmed that the next phase will witness intensified field follow-up of ongoing projects, to ensure adherence to the established timetables and accelerate implementation rates, in preparation for the projects to enter service at their specified times. He directed the need to overcome any administrative or technical obstacles as soon as possible, while fully adhering to quality and efficiency standards, which is directly reflected in the level of services provided to citizens.
The meeting also discussed developments in the projects of the presidential initiative “A Decent Life” in the targeted centers and villages, where the governor stressed the importance of completing the ongoing work according to the approved timetables, with careful monitoring of implementation rates, and working to speed up the operation of completed projects, in a way that contributes to improving the quality of life in the countryside and raising the efficiency of infrastructure and basic services.
In the file of revenues and maximizing resources, the governor directed a comprehensive review of collection mechanisms, counting arrears, and taking the necessary legal measures against non-compliant people, in a way that supports the financial stability of the governorate and provides additional resources that contribute to financing development plans.
