The Media Center of the Council of Ministers published an explanatory statement through its official platforms on social media, during which it clarified the truth about what was raised regarding the government’s announcement banning the movement of citizens on public roads, from seven in the evening until six in the morning, as well as granting state or private sector workers a holiday tomorrow, Thursday, in addition to what was circulated about extending the period of suspension of studies in schools and universities nationwide for a period of 15 days, starting on March 29.

The media center confirmed that what is being circulated regarding banning the movement of citizens is incorrect, stressing that no government decisions have been issued in this regard, and that the movement of citizens on public roads is proceeding normally, stressing that what is being circulated is merely a rumor aimed at creating confusion among citizens.

Regarding what was circulated about granting workers in the state or the private sector leave tomorrow, Thursday, the statement indicated that no official decisions have been issued yet in this regard, and that the news circulating about granting leave to workers is incorrect.

As for extending the period of suspension of studies in schools and universities nationwide for a period of 15 days, starting on March 29, the Media Center explained that, in communication with the Ministries of Education and Technical Education, and Higher Education and Scientific Research, they reported that the circulating news dates back to the year 2020, stressing that what is being circulated in this regard is baseless, and that no decisions have been issued to extend the suspension of studies.

The two ministries stressed the regularity of the educational process in schools, universities and institutes nationwide, in accordance with the time map set for each of them during the current academic year.
The Media Center appealed to all citizens not to be led by such false news published on social media, with the need to obtain information from their official sources, especially since the promoters of these rumors have resorted to creating the “logo” of a number of websites and television channels, and these sites and channels have denied the authenticity of what is published on their tongues, in order to clarify the facts.
