A number of residents of the Biba Center, south of Beni Suef Governorate, sent an urgent call to officials, due to their daily suffering from the garbage collection site near the two railway tracks next to Ezbet Youssef Ghali, stressing that the continuation of the current situation threatens their health and negatively affects the environment and the general appearance of the area.

One of the residents said that garbage is burned repeatedly during the night, which leads to the rise of thick smoke and unpleasant odors that extend into the homes, causing harm to a number of residents, especially allergy and chest patients.

Another pointed out that these fumes have become a constant source of concern for them, as they cause frequent cases of suffocation, in addition to their negative impact on children and the elderly, calling for urgent intervention to alleviate their suffering and move the collection site away from the residential block.

The residents added that the presence of the garbage dump in this vital location, near the Ibrahimiya Canal Bridge, contributed greatly to distorting the cultural appearance of the area, especially since it is one of the important entrances to the center.

The residents confirmed that there are multiple alternatives that can be exploited to move the garbage collection site, especially in the eastern desert back of the center of Biba, noting that the matter has become easier after the opening of the Al-Fashn axis on the Nile, which facilitates access to those areas.

The residents called on the executive authorities to quickly respond to their complaints and take the necessary measures to move the garbage dump to a suitable location, in order to preserve the health of citizens and improve the cultural image of the Biba Center.
