The United Kingdom is exposed to severe economic damage
The British Prime Minister is also expected to meet with senior representatives of the energy, shipping and financial services sectors, amid warnings that the United Kingdom may be exposed to severe economic damage as a result of the war against Iran.
The Times newspaper said that the discussion will focus on the ongoing Iranian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which has disrupted a vital shipping lane for the oil and gas sector, in addition to supplies of other products such as fertilizers.
The newspaper warned that with the rise in oil prices and Iran’s continued blockade of the vital Strait of Hormuz, Britain is now expected to face a rise in inflation rates and a decline in growth rates.
