Dar’s global musical journey continues Opera The Egyptian orchestra, headed by Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam, during a concert by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, led by Maestro Nader Abbasi and with the participation of violinist Mirna Sorour, at eight in the evening on Sunday, January 11, at the Grand Theater.

The concert comes within the framework of Egyptian culture’s plans to showcase various types of serious and fine arts. Its program includes various selections of the works of major composers, including the Spanish Symphony by Edouard Lalo, the Horn and Orchestra Concerto by Saint-Saens, The Pine Trees of Rome by Respighi, as well as childhood memories of the concert leader, Nader Abbasi, which he dedicated to his mother, inspired by one of the melodies she used to sing to him in the past, and he has been influenced by it until now, despite not knowing its source.

It is noteworthy that the current season of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra witnesses the hosting of many international and Egyptian conductors and musicians, in addition to providing an opportunity for promising talents in the field, while presenting a group of rarities of international and Egyptian compositions in the classical form through various series of performances.

Recently, the Ministry of Culture presented, through the Egyptian Opera House, headed by Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam, a concert for the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, where the exceptional concert was held after opening a series of episodes of the greatest compositions in the new artistic season, and was conducted by Maestro Ahmed Al-Saidi with the participation of violinist Salma Sorour, on the occasion of half a century since the passing of the international Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich, and included Shostakovich’s 12th Symphony, which represented an elegy from The tune is studded with sadness and challenge.
