Sources confirmed to Cairo 24 that the concerned authorities issued orders to form emergency health inspection committees to inspect addiction clinics in Mariouteya, Shabramant, Hawamdiya, and Abu Nomros, and a security team moved to uncover the circulating video and determine the identity of those in it and the truth about their exposure to torture and beatings, and to form security teams from Juvenile Investigations and Public Security to inspect addiction treatment clinics and arrest unlicensed ones.

The sources also explained that the alleged asylum has been reached and what happened is being investigated to find out who is responsible, adding that this is not the first time cases of addicts escaping from asylums that do not practice correct treatment protocols.

The circulating video clip included some people walking in the streets in a suspicious manner, and they approached the videographer to claim that they had escaped from the asylum, due to mistreatment and not being well cared for.

They also claimed that they were only offered two loaves of bread filled with cheese and treatment, and that they wanted to quit drugs but could not because the clinic would not help them.
