Fathi Abdel Wahab achieved a wide reaction through the character of Samih Al-Jallad, which he presented in Al-Maddah 6, written by Amin Gamal and directed by Ahmed Samir Farag, and the audience interacted with Shahada in a great way.
Fathi Abdel Wahab said in exclusive statements to Cairo 24: When I create a character and receive a good reaction, I love it, and I love the character of Samih Al-Gallad and all the characters I presented, and I object to parts of the work due to the repetition of the character, because I want to present many characters, and I do not like to be limited to specific roles.
Fathi Abdel Wahab: The audience’s reaction to Samih Al-Jallad encouraged me to present him again
He added: Regarding Samih Al-Jallad, there are many things that made me present it again, including the production company that contacted me while I was filming The Injustice of the Mastaba, and I saw that there was a great welcome from the audience, in addition to an important element, which is the meeting I had with Ahmed Samir Farag, the director, because we talked about developing the character, tools, and many ideas to present the character again, and we relied on a different dramatic approach.
He continued: The most important thing is that while you are thinking with the director and the writers, the action should be within the context, in addition to the fact that the makers presented 150 episodes, of which 30 were presented, and Samih Al-Jalad’s ideas in the new part had to be different.
Regarding his embodiment of the character, he explained: I think that people see the external makeup of Samih Al-Jallad, whether in clothing, the way of speaking, and the way of movement. People find it more difficult, and the internal makeup of Samih Al-Jallad is difficult if someone can tell it, and you must be believable and most importantly, be happy with the character that you present.
Regarding Abla Kamel’s scene in Raya and Sakina, he said: Abla Kamel’s reaction in the scene made my mind stop thinking, and she is a great talent.
Regarding the success of all parts of Al-Madah, he said: I think the topic is related to popular folklore, and these topics are very available in the regions and rural areas, in addition to the idea of artistic completion, and the basis is that Ahmed Samir Farag knows the target audience and knows what he wants, and this is an important part of the success.
