The Arab Theater Festival, which is held by the Arab Theater Authority and headed by writer Ismail Abdullah, honored the great star Mohamed Sobhi during its sixteenth session, which was held in the Arab Republic of Egypt, during the opening ceremony of the festival in the Grand Theater of the Cairo Opera House, in appreciation of his long artistic career and his exceptional contributions to enriching the Arab theatrical movement, and his prominent role in consolidating the value of theater as a tool for awareness and enlightenment.

This honor comes as recognition from the Arab Theater Authority for the immortal theatrical works presented by Mohamed Sobhi over many decades that shaped the consciences of successive generations, through which he succeeded in blending artistic creativity with deep intellectual presentation, preserving the identity of Arab theater and its humanitarian and social messages.

The festival is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and the Arab Theater Authority. Cairo hosts the sixteenth session of the Arab Theater Festival. The Arab Theater Festival is the most prominent theatrical event in the Arab world, as its activities begin in Cairo in conjunction with the Arab Theater Day, in an experience recorded for the first time in the festival’s history.
