Communicate the Ministry Communications and Information Technology, its efforts to develop digital infrastructure and improve the quality of communications services, within the framework of an integrated strategy aimed at supporting digital transformation and enhancing Egypt’s position regionally and globally in the technology sector.
The Ministry, under the leadership of Engineer Raafat Hindi, is working to implement a number of vital projects that contribute to raising the efficiency of networks and improving the level of service provided to citizens, as it succeeded in making new frequency capacities totaling 410 MHz available to the four mobile companies, which supports the expansion of the deployment of fifth generation networks and keeps pace with global developments in the field of communications.
Reaching coverage rates that match international standards
The Ministry also continues its plans to increase the number of mobile towers nationwide, with the aim of reaching coverage rates that match international standards, especially in remote areas and villages, which contributes to improving the quality of communication and reducing interruptions.
This comes with the implementation of a project to extend fiber optic cables within the Decent Life Initiative, which enhances the efficiency of high-speed Internet in villages and achieves a qualitative leap in the level of digital services provided to citizens.
Efforts also include expanding the establishment of modern data centers, which supports Egypt’s transformation into a regional center for the data industry, in addition to strengthening the cybersecurity system and achieving digital sovereignty, as well as developing the international digital infrastructure, which strengthens Egypt’s position as a major global corridor for data transfer between continents.
