The Health Directorate in South Sinai Governorate announced that it has raised the level of maximum preparedness in all its health facilities, in preparation for receiving the glorious Easter of Easter and Sham El-Nessim, in implementation of the directives of Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, and Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of South Sinai.

Dr. Haitham Al-Shenhab, Director of the Health Directorate in South Sinai, confirmed to Cairo 24 that these measures come within the framework of preserving public health and providing distinguished medical services to citizens and visitors during the holiday period.

Dr. Ashraf Fawzi, Director of Preventive Medicine, explained that the level of preparedness in the preventive emergency room has been raised to operate 24 hours a day, with the activation of surveillance teams and immediate reporting of any suspected cases of infectious diseases.

Availability of serums and vaccines

It was emphasized that all life-saving vaccines and serums were available, especially the anti-toxin serum, in addition to providing hepatitis B vaccination for newborns within the first 24 hours, and providing the necessary care for children born to infected mothers.

In addition to continuing to provide rabies prevention services throughout the day, monitoring the cold chain to ensure the safety of vaccines, activating emergency plans in cases of power outages, and regular work in health offices, with some offices operating 24 hours a day.

The monitoring teams intensified their visits to drinking water stations to ensure water quality and chlorine levels, swimming pools, public facilities, and sewage stations to prevent the spread of diseases.

Food inspectors were directed to intensify campaigns in hospital kitchens and ensure food safety and that workers obtain valid health certificates.

Emergency teams were formed to combat disease vectors, intensifying spraying and insect surveillance, and dealing immediately with any reports.

The Directorate confirmed the continuation of full coordination between all health departments and the emergency room around the clock, to ensure rapid response to any emergency during the holiday period, and to preserve the health and safety of citizens.
