The city has high solar radiation levels throughout the year, making it an ideal environment for generating solar energy. Relying on it leads to: reducing rates of pollution and carbon emissions, reducing dependence on traditional fuels, and supporting the country’s trend towards transforming into green and sustainable cities.

The most prominent solar energy projects in Sharm El Sheikh
“Green Sharm” project: The “Green Sharm” project is one of the most important environmental initiatives that aims to transform the city into a global model for sustainable tourism, as it includes: installing solar panels on buildings and hotels, using solar energy for lighting and services, and already introducing a number of hotels into the clean energy system.

Solar electricity production plants
The city witnessed the establishment of solar power plants with a capacity of up to 20 megawatts, with future plans to raise the capacity to 35 megawatts, distributed as follows:
