Major General Dr. Abdel Fattah Siraj, Governor of Sohag, conducted an evening tour of the city of Tahta, during which he inspected a number of public parking lots, streets, squares, and markets, as part of continuous field follow-up to improve the level of services, achieve traffic discipline, and improve the city’s civilized appearance.

Tahta parking officials were referred for investigation

The governor was accompanied during the tour by Dr. Mohamed Helmy, Assistant Secretary-General of the Governorate, and Ahmed Al-Shatouri, Head of the Tahta Center and City.

The tour included an inspection of the parking lots in Sohag, Al-Kamil, Al-Maragha, and Assiut, where the governor noted the poor organization and non-compliance with controls, and directed that parking officials in the city of Tahta be referred to the investigation authorities, stressing that any negligence that affects the interests of citizens will not be tolerated.

The Governor also assigned the Assistant Secretary-General to hold an urgent meeting with the participation of the concerned authorities, led by urban planning and traffic management, to develop new visions and designs for replanning and developing parking lots to ensure sustainable solutions.

The governor directed to raise the efficiency of the squares, improve the level of cleanliness on Al-Mahatta Street and Al-Thawra Square, in addition to removing the illegal occupancies from the entrance to the investigation authorities’ market, and taking the necessary legal measures against violators.

The governor concluded his tour by inspecting one of the shops, stressing the need for clear advertising of prices and the availability of basic goods at fair prices, stressing the continuation of surprise tours in all governorate centers to improve the level of services provided to citizens.
