Sama Nomoko – the successor to Lamine Yamal – Barcelona Athletic player, suffered a cruciate ligament tear and will be sidelined for a year, the club announced in an official statement.
FC Barcelona said: “Barcelona Athletic player, Sama Nomoko, underwent a successful surgery yesterday, Tuesday, to repair a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, accompanied by damage to the meniscus in the same knee.”
He continued: “The injury occurred during the recent Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt.”
He continued: “The operation was performed at Barcelona Hospital by Dr. Joan Carles Monlo, under the supervision of the club’s medical services.”
He concluded: “The recovery period is expected to take about 12 months.”
