Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made a phone call with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic explained that the call dealt with current regional developments, as the President affirmed Egypt’s condemnation of the attacks by Iran against which the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was subjected, and Egypt’s full solidarity with brotherly Jordan, the leadership and people, in facing the challenges taking place in the region, stressing that Egypt rejects any attempts to undermine the security and stability of Jordan, and that it stands by the Kingdom in everything that enhances its national security and preserves the interests of its people.
He also pointed out that Egypt is intensifying its efforts and movements at the international and regional levels in an effort to stop the escalation and contain the crises, praising the effective Jordanian role in supporting efforts to calm the situation and enhance regional stability.
Al-Sisi affirms Egypt’s full solidarity with Jordan and rejects any threat to its security and stability
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesman, added that the two leaders touched on the latest developments in the regional situation, including the occupied Palestinian territories, where Mr. President praised the wise positions adopted by Jordan in dealing with the current developments, stressing that Egypt sees Jordan’s security as an integral part of its national security, and that the common destiny requires strengthening Arab cooperation and uniting ranks to face the challenges.
For his part, King Abdullah II expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast and supportive positions towards Jordan, stressing the Kingdom’s keenness to continue close coordination with Egypt and the sisterly Arab countries to spare the region from further tension and work to end the crises as quickly as possible, praising the established fraternal relations that bring together the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
In the same context, the President stressed during the call the importance of consolidating the concept of collective Arab national security to ensure the protection of Arab countries from any threats or attacks, stressing that Arab unity is the best way to confront current challenges and preserve the stability of the region.
