Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Dr. Sameh El-Hafny, Minister of Civil Aviation.

This was followed by another meeting of the President with Dr. Sameh Al-Hafni, Major General A.H. Walid Arif, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, Major General Khaled Abdullah, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority, and Mrs. Soheir Abdullah, President of EgyptAir Air Services.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the two meetings discussed the efforts of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to develop Egyptian airports and enhance their work systems in accordance with the latest international systems and standards.

In this context, the developments of the Terminal 4 project at Cairo International Airport were reviewed, which aims to increase the capacity of passenger and aircraft movement, in addition to following up on projects to develop and raise the efficiency of Cairo, Luxor, Alexandria and El Alamein airports, in addition to establishing a new passenger terminal at the Capital International Airport, and establishing St. Catherine and Arish International Airports.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesman, indicated that the developments in the file of offering the management and operation of Egyptian airports to the private sector were also reviewed, and efforts to attract more local and foreign investments to this promising sector, in addition to following up on the work of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation and the results of the work of the Holding Company for EgyptAir during the fiscal year 2024/2025.

The meeting also discussed the efforts made to implement digital transformation, especially at Cairo International Airport, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Civil Aviation Authority and its subsidiaries, with the aim of improving the efficiency of internal work and developing services provided to the public, which contributes to facilitating procedures and providing advanced digital services, and the ongoing coordination in this regard with the Ministry of Interior to activate electronic passport gates to facilitate travel procedures and improve the experience of travelers on all flights in the next stage, as well as ending the procedures for using paper passport cards.

The official spokesman stated that the situation regarding EgyptAir aircraft and fleet was also discussed, as well as the impact of the ongoing war in the region on Egyptian airlines, including canceled flights and air traffic in Egypt.

The meeting also discussed the steps taken in the project to develop and raise the efficiency of the EgyptAir Air Services Company, within the framework of Mr. President’s directives to improve the level of services provided to travelers. The development and efficiency work of the Transit Hotel (Terminal 3) at Cairo International Airport was also reviewed.

The official spokesman added that Mr. President stressed that the development file of the national company “EgyptAir” is a top priority, stressing the necessity of implementing a comprehensive vision aimed at expanding the air fleet, improving operating efficiency, raising the quality of services provided to travelers, while adhering to environmental standards and increasing profitability, and developing work systems inside airports in a way that contributes to raising the level of services provided through this vital facility.
