I witnessed Port Said Governorate During the past 24 hours, there was a special festive atmosphere coinciding with Christmas, as Major General Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said, sent a congratulatory telegram to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in which he expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes, praying to God to return the occasion to Egypt with more security, stability and progress, stressing that the Egyptians’ holidays reflect the depth of cohesion among the people of one nation.

The governor received Christmas well-wishers from the executive and security leaders and the governorate’s deputies in his office at the governorate’s general office, expressing his appreciation for this kind gesture, stressing that the unity of the national ranks is the basic pillar of the state’s stability and the completion of the development process, praising the role of the executive and security agencies in serving citizens and maintaining the security and stability of Port Said.
The Governor of Port Said participated with the Coptic brothers in the Christmas celebrations, where he visited the cathedral in the Sharq district and was received by His Eminence Bishop Tadros, Bishop of Port Said, in the presence of Major General Mohamed El-Gamasy, Assistant Minister of Interior and Director of Port Said Security, Dr. Amr Othman, Deputy Governor, Major General Amr Fikry, General Secretary, and a number of executive and security leaders and members of the House of Representatives and Senate. He stressed during his speech that Muslims and Christians are one fabric, and that Egypt will remain a unique model in Coexistence and love.
After that, the governor went to the Evangelical Church in the Sharq district, where he conveyed the greetings and congratulations of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly to the people of Port Said, stressing that cohesion among the people of the country is the secret of the state’s strength and stability.
In a related context, Rev. Jeremiah Fahmy, the media spokesman for the Coptic Orthodox Archbishopric in Port Said, said that the visits of delegations to congratulate Christmas embody a message of love that confirms that Egypt is in the heart of one man, and he thanked all the leaders, delegations, parties, and media professionals for their effective participation and distinguished coverage of the celebrations.
On the other hand, the Church of Anba Bishoy in Mansheya Square witnessed a huge carnival for children and youth on the occasion of Christmas, in the presence of Anba Tadros, Bishop of Port Said and its environs. The carnival included entertainment and electronic games, artistic activities, competitions, and the distribution of gifts, in an atmosphere of joy and happiness, with the people praising the church’s keenness to bring joy to the hearts of children.
