During the past 24 hours, Port Said Governorate witnessed important events, as the executive agencies began the work of collecting stray dogs from various neighborhoods and Port Fouad and transporting them to the new shelter in Qabouti, in parallel with the reception of the head of the General Authority for Veterinary Services and the start of the actual operation of the shelter and vaccination system, in addition to intensive field tours to follow up on health and development projects, and organizational and service decisions aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens.

The issue of dealing with stray dogs witnessed extensive action, as technical and medical teams were deployed to collect dogs from the streets according to safe methods, and transport them to the new shelter equipped with veterinary care and vaccinations, while the governor confirmed the continuation of campaigns periodically while adhering to humanitarian and scientific standards, to achieve a balance between protecting citizens and animal welfare.

The governor also received the head of the General Authority for Veterinary Services, and they held a meeting with the relevant teams to follow up on the work plans, before they together inspected the start of the actual operation of the shelter in the South District, which witnessed the reception of the first cases, while following up on the implementation of a second shelter in preparation for its entry into service soon.

In the health sector, the governor inspected the drivers’ hospital in the Al-Zohour neighborhood, and directed the preparation of a comprehensive study of the executive position, with rapid coordination to introduce basic facilities in preparation for its operation, stressing that the hospital will represent a strong addition to the health system and relieve pressure on existing hospitals.

Field follow-up tours of development projects continued, as the governor inspected the work to raise the efficiency of Aswan Street, directing the rapid completion of spraying in parallel with the paving work, with an assignment to create a park and implement landscaping work to improve the urban appearance.

The tours extended to the fourth district in the Al-Manakh neighborhood, which is witnessing comprehensive development that includes paving roads, painting buildings, modernizing electricity and lighting networks, and creating green spaces, where the governor directed the establishment of a new park to serve the people, stressing the need to adhere to timetables and quality implementation.

He also followed up on the work of removing spraying sites on Al-Sabah Street in Al-Manakh district, with an emphasis on intensifying the work and speeding up completion, as part of a comprehensive plan to improve the level of cleanliness and restore the civilized appearance.

In the suburbs district, he inspected the development work of the Al-Isra area, which includes replacing sewage networks, paving roads, raising the efficiency of lighting, and creating green spaces, stressing the continuation of development plans in all areas to achieve a healthy and safe environment for citizens.

At the level of community communication, the governor held an extensive public meeting, during which he listened to citizens’ complaints, and directed urgent solutions to a number of issues, including reconciliation, housing, health, investment, and work, while taking immediate decisions to support humanitarian cases and provide job opportunities, and stressing the speed of response and not disrupting the interests of citizens.

Within the framework of the regulatory decisions, the governor issued a decision to implement the remote work system on Sunday of every week for a month, for jobs that do not require field presence, while continuing to provide services without being affected, and with periodic follow-up to ensure compliance and efficient performance.

The governor also approved the decision to expel a student for a full academic year, following an incident of assault on a teacher, stressing that any violations within educational institutions will not be tolerated, and that teacher prestige and school discipline will be maintained.

In a related context, intensive campaigns continued in all neighborhoods to impose discipline, which included closing and waxing violating establishments, removing occupancies, and confiscating encroachments on the right of way, in addition to intensifying cleaning and beautification work and raising the efficiency of the streets, in a way that reflects the civilized appearance of the governorate.
