The medical team at the Children’s Specialized Hospital in Abu Homs in Beheira Governorate performed a surgical intervention, the first of its kind in the hospital, for a one-and-a-half-year-old child suffering from fibroids in the groin area. The case was admitted for surgery and the fibroids were removed.
Performing the first surgical intervention of its kind at the Beheira Children’s Specialized Hospital
The medical team consisted of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Hadi Abdel Ghani, surgery and anesthesia specialist Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Younis, and sterile nurse Hosnia Youssef Hasafi.
Dr. Muhammad Ghazlan, director of the hospital, explained that integrated coordination between departments and harmony in quick decision-making were the most important reasons for dealing with such complex cases without the need to refer them to other hospitals.
Dr. Islam Assaf, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Beheira, praised the efforts and success of the medical team participating in the operation, stressing that Beheira’s doctors have special skills, and this is clearly evident in the number of precise, skilled operations they performed in all hospitals during the past short period.
He noted that the state attaches great importance to developing the health and treatment system to provide distinguished medical services, especially in delicate and emergency specialties.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the workers at the Children’s Specialized Hospital in Abu Homs, in appreciation of their efforts and work to overcome all obstacles for sick children, and to put all capabilities in front of critical and emergency cases.
