The city of Al-Bajour in Menoufia Governorate witnessed an accident that brought to the forefront the residents’ repeated demands to install traffic calming bumps, after a person was killed after a car collided with him on Banha Street, one of the vital streets that witnesses heavy traffic.

Details of the accident

Major General Alaa Al-Jahir, Director of Security Menoufiaa notification from Brigadier General Hassan Al-Nashal, Commissioner of Al-Bajour Police Station, stating that a report had been received of a collision on Banha Street in the Center District, and that there was a death at the scene of the accident.

A security force immediately moved to the scene of the report, where it was found that a person named “A.S.A” died as a result of his injuries as a result of the accident, and the body was transferred to Al-Bajour Specialized Hospital at the disposal of the investigating authorities.

The car that caused the accident and its driver were also seized, and the necessary legal measures were taken in preparation for presenting it to the Public Prosecution to initiate investigations and uncover the circumstances of the incident.

A number of residents demanded the immediate intervention of the concerned authorities to place speed bumps and clear warning signs, to reduce accidents and protect the lives of citizens.

The concerned agencies are continuing their efforts to complete the examination and hear witness statements, while the people await urgent action that will put an end to the series of accidents that claim lives on this vital road.
