The exceptional episode of the State of Recitation program this Friday evening witnessed exciting moments, as the method of announcing the result was different from usual. Instead of the traditional grading system for each jury member, a new method was adopted that relies on each judge voting with cards to choose the contestant most deserving of winning the special episode award, which was called the “Golden Branch Award.”

Omar Ali Awad wins the Golden Branch Award

A group of distinguished young talents competed in the episode, namely: Muhammad Al-Qalaji, the only remaining young contestant, along with Omar Ali Awad, Abdullah Abdul Mawjoud, and Ali Muhammad Mustafa, while Shehab Ahmed Hassan apologized for participating for health reasons.

The jury and the audience emphasized that all contestants deserve appreciation for their outstanding performance. The voting process began by distributing cards to the committee members, and each judge wrote the name of the contestant he considered most deserving of winning, without knowing the choices of others, which gave the moment an atmosphere of tension and excitement.

The results showed that the first, second and third votes went in favor of Omar Ali Awad, while the fourth vote went to Muhammad Al-Qalaji, and with the fifth card, Omar Ali Awad was confirmed to have won the Golden Branch Award.

Omar Ali Awad was honored in the presence of Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, who congratulated all the contestants on their wonderful performance, and praised the level of young talent in the program.
