The Railway Authority issued Circular No. (1) of 2026, regarding the work procedures for train attendants or those who carry out their duties, with the aim of… Reducing theft incidents inside train cars and enhance operational discipline.

Station procedures
The authority stressed in a circular, a copy of which was obtained by Cairo 24, the necessity for the train attendant to receive the cars allocated to him, and review all the internal equipment, which includes (curtains, linens, tools, toilets, and fire extinguishers), while proving any deficiency or observations with the losses representative at the station or workshop, to ensure that they are officially documented.
The instructions stressed the importance of ensuring that all passengers disembark from the carriages upon arrival at the final stations, provided that the host continues to accompany the carriages until they are delivered to the representative in charge of the workshop.
Special instructions for trains without stewards
The Authority clarified that in the event that there are no train attendants, you must adhere to Accessory Instructions No. (9) of 2023, regarding procedures for receiving and delivering passenger cars, while activating Form (79), and adhering to all the rules contained in the operating safety regulations.
The long and short-distance sector alerted all train hosts and supervisors, or those carrying out their duties, of the necessity of full commitment to implementing these instructions accurately, to ensure the preservation of passenger property and operational safety.
