National Complaints for Women organizes seminars at universities to raise awareness of information technology crimes

Amal Abdel Moneim, Director General of the Women’s Complaints Office, confirmed that the Council was keen to enable girls to use technology safely, and to spread awareness about digital dangers and the protection of personal privacy, explaining that this stage comes based on the requests that the Council received from universities to repeat the organization of these seminars, after the wide interaction witnessed in the first stage, and in awareness of the seriousness of electronic attacks to which this group in particular may be exposed.

The seminars included a review of the most important legislation and laws related to data privacy and cybercrime, highlighting the right of individuals to digital protection, and introducing reporting mechanisms.

It is noteworthy that the office held a series of awareness seminars on “combatting information technology crimes” in 7 governorates (Alexandria – Marsa Matrouh – Assiut – North Sinai – Sharkia – Damietta – Red Sea), targeting 4,489 male and female students at universities and technical institutes in the governorates.
