Harrods, a luxury department store in London, sparked widespread criticism after its launch Games For children made of real animal fur, it is included in his special collection for the Christmas season, including a luxurious teddy bear priced at up to 4,200 pounds sterling.

Items on offer include a teddy bear wearing a Fendi mink jacket, as well as a stuffed children’s rabbit covered in the Fendi logo, also made of mink, priced at £4,050.
The store also displays a toy rabbit from Dior made of rare and soft Orillage fur, coming from farms near Cognac in France, at a price of 1,600 pounds.
This comes at a time when major retailers, including Selfridges, have abandoned selling fur completely, while other stores still sell products from luxury brands such as Fendi and Dior, which often include fur in their designs.

Criticism from the World Animal Humane Organization
Although raising animals for fur has been banned in the UK for more than 20 years, fur is still imported from countries such as China and Finland and sold within the country, and according to HMRC reports, the value of fur imports annually ranges between 30 and 40 million pounds sterling.
For her part, Claire Bass from Humane World Animals strongly criticized these products, saying that trapping and killing beautiful animals to turn them into luxury toys completely contradicts the spirit of the holiday season, adding: The only fur that children should see is where it belongs, on living things themselves.
The organization estimates that fur imports between 2019 and 2023 are approximately equivalent to the killing of 7 million animals, bringing the debate over the ethics of this industry back to the forefront.
Ruth Jones, the Labor MP for Newport West and Islwyn, presented a private members’ bill aimed at banning the import and sale of fur, to be discussed in the second reading in the House of Commons next January.
In a brief comment, a Harrods spokesman said: We adhere to all legal requirements imposed on the sale of all goods within the store, while no comments have been issued by the Fendi and Dior brands yet.
