Cairo 24 learned from its sources that Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly will inspect the Toud Residences project during his visit to Luxor today, which recently witnessed a breakthrough after more than 16 years of faltering, in addition to the opening of a number of development and service projects in the housing, infrastructure and public services sectors, as part of the state’s field follow-up of development plans in Upper Egypt.

A visit carrying political and development messages

The visit comes after the governorate succeeded in delivering 200 housing units so far within a project that includes 600 units, which represents a qualitative leap in one of the longest faltering housing files in southern Egypt.

The Prime Minister’s visit bears clear indications of the transition of the Al-Toud Housing Project from the stage of the stalled file to the completed file, after citizens had been waiting for their units since 2008, before the state began to revive it and accelerate implementation rates during the past two years.

Madbouly is expected to inspect a number of residential buildings ready for delivery, and listen to an explanation from officials about the implementation stages, the status of delivering facilities and services, and the time plan for completing the remaining units.

Openings include housing, services and infrastructure

The Prime Minister’s tour includes the opening of a number of projects in the areas of: social and medium housing, developing internal roads and connecting new residential areas, drinking water and sanitation projects, and new service facilities to serve citizens.

These projects aim to improve the quality of life, relieve pressure on old areas, and achieve a more balanced urban distribution within the governorate.

Luxor is at the heart of the development plan in Upper Egypt

The visit reflects the government’s interest in accelerating the pace of development in the governorates of Upper Egypt, and transforming them from regions suffering from service gaps into regions attractive for population and investment, in line with Egypt’s 2030 vision for sustainable development.

The Prime Minister’s visit to the Al-Toud housing project represents the culmination of years of work to end a long-awaited file, and confirms that the state has moved from the stage of promises to the stage of actual delivery and implementation.
