Engineer Abdel Razek Al-Safi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in the Governorate, announced Luxorannounced the start of implementing a comprehensive plan to develop and modernize all car service and supply stations in the governorate.

This came during the opening and operation of a gas station in the “Al-Daba’iya” area after the completion of its development work, in a step aimed at increasing the capacity and providing distinguished services to consumers.

A plan to modernize 70 gas stations

Al-Safi explained that the governorate currently includes about 70 car service and supply stations, including 3 stations designated for natural gas.

Emphasizing that the development operations come within the framework of the directives of Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, on the necessity of upgrading the infrastructure of catering services.

Intensive regulatory campaigns to control markets

In a related context, Engineer Jibril Bakri, Director General of Internal Trade, indicated that the Directorate and its affiliated departments continue their intensive monitoring campaigns day and night in coordination with the General Petroleum Authority.

These campaigns aim to tighten control over gas stations and butane depots, to ensure compliance with food laws and decisions, ensure that support reaches those who deserve it at official prices, and firmly confront petroleum smugglers and subsidy exploiters.

These moves come within the ministry’s strategy to control markets, which is not limited only to petroleum products, but extends to include inspection of municipal bakeries to ensure the quality of the bread produced, the safety of food commodities offered to citizens, and controlling all forms of catering crimes.
