The Ministry of Transport revealed, Represented by the National Tunnels Authorityannounced the completion of its preparations to welcome the month of Ramadan in 2026, by adjusting the operating dates of the light electric train (LRT) to ensure the provision of the best service to citizens.
Modifying the operating times of the electric train
The new plan includes operating 266 flights daily during normal working days, while intensifying the field presence of the commanders to monitor the regularity of the traffic movement and raise the maximum level of preparedness of the emergency teams at the various stations.
According to the issued statement, it was decided to reduce the traffic flow during the evening peak hours before breakfast time to only 8 minutes, in order to accommodate the high density of passengers and facilitate their return.
Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, also directed the necessity of sending additional empty trains at peak times to reduce congestion, while continuing close follow-up through the central control rooms to ensure punctuality and safe operation throughout the holy month.
Detailed operating schedule map for LRT trains
The light rail train starts from Adly Mansour station towards arts and culture at 6:00 am, while the first train departs in the opposite direction at 6:04 am.
Direct trains from Adly Mansour to Arts and Culture have also been allocated at 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. to serve employees and students, with the last train connecting the two stations scheduled to be at 11:15 p.m.
Regarding the interstations, the first train starts from Badr station towards New Obour at 6:34 am, and towards Adly Mansour at 6:01 am.
The first flight from the new crossing will depart towards Adly Mansour at 6:47 am, while the flights from the new transit will conclude at 11:39 pm, and from Adly Mansour and Arts and Culture stations towards Badr station at 11:45 pm, ensuring that passengers’ needs are covered throughout the day and with high flexibility commensurate with the nature of the holy month.
