Osama Nabih, the former Zamalek club and Egyptian national team star, revealed the behind-the-scenes of the absence of some elements from the youth team during the recent period, stressing that his choices were purely artistic without any compliments.
Nabih explained that his recent statements regarding retaining some players were misinterpreted, noting that he relied on a rotation policy in order to prepare the largest possible number of players.
Liverpool’s condition decides Karim Ahmed’s position
Nabih spoke about the player Karim Ahmed, a professional player with Liverpool, stressing that his club was the reason for his not continuing with the national team.
He said: “The player attended only one gathering, then he was summoned to travel with his club to Chile, and I needed to see him more before relying on him.”
Nabih added that the technical staff faced great challenges, due to the refusal of some clubs to send their players to participate in a friendly tournament outside the international agenda, despite its importance in preparing the team.
He stressed that the criterion for participation was clear, as it did not depend on any player who did not participate primarily with his club, stressing that the goal was to achieve the greatest technical benefit for the team.
