The Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Detainees Affairs stated that its legal teams were able during the past few days to visit a number of detainees in the occupation prisons, including: Ofer, Damon, Gilboa, and Etzion prisons, as part of its continuous monitoring of the deteriorating detention conditions.

The detainees also reported a widespread spread of skin, respiratory and intestinal diseases in various departments, in light of deliberate medical negligence and the absence of health follow-up, which poses a real danger to their lives, especially the sick and the elderly, amid growing fear that health conditions will worsen and turn into critical situations.

The detainees confirmed that they were subjected to continuous physical and psychological attacks, which included beatings, oppressive searches, collective punishment, and isolation, in addition to severe overcrowding inside the rooms, where a large number of prisoners are held in narrow spaces that lack the minimum necessities of human life.

The Commission stressed that what is happening inside the occupation prisons constitutes a flagrant violation of all international laws and conventions, especially the Geneva Conventions, considering that the policy of medical neglect and systematic abuse amounts to the level of an ongoing crime against prisoners.
