Karim Talaat El-Sadat announced his resignation from the Mostaqbal Watan Party as Assistant Secretary of the Party’s Central Human Rights Secretariat, from membership in the Party, and from all the organizational tasks and responsibilities that he held within it.

He explained, according to the statement he issued a short while ago: I have contributed everything I can to supporting my dear homeland, Egypt, through the party’s activities and programs and through representing it as a representative of the people over the course of a full parliamentary term, through which I sought to make every effort I can in contributing to legislating laws and diligently striving to provide services to my constituency, which I am proud of and its people.

However, I saw that it would be better to perform that role in another framework through which I could be more supportive of Egypt and its political leadership and more interactive and cohesive with the Egyptian street, expressing it and its voice in a more free and independent manner, and through it I could also provide sufficient political awareness to serve my beloved homeland, Egypt, in a way that befits the history and approach of my father, Representative Talaat Sadat, may God have mercy on him, and the late President Mohamed Anwar Sadat, which the family has followed throughout its political history. In its support for Egypt’s leadership and people
I confirm that this decision stems from complete conviction and a sincere desire to continue serving the country and presenting a sublime national message that expresses more about the country and the citizen, wishing the party and all its leaders and members continued success in serving Egypt and successfully performing its national mission.
