Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate witnessed a state of complete alert within city councils, centers, and local units in villages, after the governorate was exposed to a wave of heavy rain that fell on most of its parts, which led to water accumulations in a number of main and subsidiary streets and squares.
Local units deployed water suction and sweeping equipment and vehicles, in coordination with drinking water and sanitation companies, to work on removing water accumulations as soon as possible, especially in low-lying areas and around schools, hospitals, and vital facilities, in order to preserve the safety of citizens and facilitate traffic.

Sub-operations rooms are held in centers and cities and operate around the clock, in implementation of the directives of Major General Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, regarding the necessity of continuous monitoring of the weather condition and rapid intervention to deal with any emergency resulting from rainfall, while emphasizing the readiness of emergency equipment and the spread of field work teams in all sectors.

The water sweeping work included the streets and squares of a number of cities in the governorate, in addition to villages and towns, where sweeping vehicles and loaders were sent to remove the water and reopen the roads to the movement of cars and citizens, while monitoring lighting poles and sewage pipes to ensure their safety.
