Mondelez International has announced an urgent product recall chocolate Milka Caramel was removed from the market in Germany, after it was discovered that it may contain pieces of plastic that may pose a threat to the health of consumers.

The company explained that this defect may lead to injuries to the mouth or throat, and in some cases may lead to internal bleeding.

Urgent recall of Milka chocolate in Germany

According to what was published in the newspaper CHIP|, the company stated in a warning about the product that the recall includes 100-gram Milka Caramel chocolate bars, which carry different expiration dates.

She also confirmed that potential plastic objects could be visible inside the chocolate, making its consumption unsafe.

Mondelez International stressed the necessity of completely refraining from eating any bar from the affected batches, stressing that pieces of plastic, even if they are small, may cause serious injuries to consumers, especially to children or the elderly.

She explained that the warning comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the public.

February 20, 2026 (OSV1252132 – OSV1252133)
February 21, 2026 (OSV1252141)
February 26, 2026 (OSV1252223)
February 27, 2026 (OSV1252231 – OSV1252232 – OSV1252233)

The company called on consumers who purchased the affected product to contact customer service to obtain information or compensation.

Mondelez confirmed that this recall is limited to Milka caramel chocolate only, and does not include any other products from Milka or from the company.
