The Food Industries Export Council announced the lifting of the ban imposed on the import of all types of juice, jam, pastries and cake products to the Iraqi market, thus opening new horizons for Egyptian food exports and enhancing their access to foreign markets during the next stage.

The publication, a copy of which was obtained by “Sada Al-Balad”, confirmed that the Iraqi Ministry of Trade decided to lift the ban on importing these products from all countries of the world, according to Report No. 45 of 2025, within the framework of reviewing the decisions regulating the import movement in a way that supports the needs of the Iraqi market.

The Council noted that this decision represents a positive step to support the movement Food exports Egyptian, especially in the juices, jams and baked goods sectors, and enhances the competitiveness of the Egyptian product within the Iraqi market, which is one of the most promising markets in the region.

The Council explained that lifting the ban contributes to stimulating trade exchange between Egypt and Iraq, and supports the plans of exporting companies to expand in foreign markets, expressing its aspiration to increase the volume of Egyptian food exports during the coming period in light of this decision.

The Export Council called on member companies to quickly study the requirements of the Iraqi market and take advantage of new export opportunities, while adhering to the required standard specifications and technical requirements, in order to ensure sustainable access to Egyptian products and enhance confidence in their quality within regional markets.
