Investigating 7 people on charges of stealing mobile phones in Alexandria

The security services of the Ministry of Interior had seized a gang formation in Alexandria, whose criminal activity specialized in stealing mobile phones using kidnapping.

Information and investigations of the Public Security Sector, in coordination with the Criminal Investigation Department in Alexandria, confirmed the formation of 7 people with “4 of them criminal information”, 3 of whom were bad faith agents, residing in Alexandria, a gang formation whose criminal activity specialized in stealing cell phones using the “kidnapping” method using a “tuk-tuk” vehicle within the Alexandria Governorate.

After codifying the procedures, they were targeted and were able to be seized along with the vehicle used in the theft incidents. When they were confronted, they confessed to having committed 18 theft incidents, and under their guidance, all the seized stolen goods were seized, and legal measures were taken.

In a separate context, the security services at the Ministry of Interior revealed the truth about a post circulating on social media sites, which included pictures and an allegation that a person and his son had seized a plot of agricultural land previously rented to them in Gharbia Governorate, in addition to the allegation that they had beaten his son and caused damage to his car.

Upon examination, it was revealed that these allegations were not true, and that the truth of the incident was that there were disputes between the complainant (the pensioner and his family) and the person complained against (one of the people and his son, who had criminal information), all of whom resided in the Zefta Police Station, over a plot of land for which several reports had been issued.

It was also found that the complainant’s claim regarding the defendant assaulting his son and causing damage to his car was incorrect. When the complainant was confronted, he admitted his false claim, the necessary legal measures were taken, and the Public Prosecution took over the investigation into the incident.
