Wasel branch of the National Food Safety Authority In Aswan Led by Engineer Michael Alfie, his efforts were made during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period by organizing morning and evening campaigns to ensure the suitability of food materials and commodities, and their compliance with quality standards and suitability for human consumption, in order to preserve the public health of citizens.

Organizing a series of campaigns that reached 10 campaigns

In this context, the director of the branch of the National Food Safety Authority explained that, in implementation of the instructions of the Governor of Aswan, a series of campaigns amounting to 10 campaigns were organized, targeting 82 food establishments in the cities of Aswan and Edfu, in order to ensure the suitability of the food products offered in accordance with food safety requirements, proper storage and display methods, and the extent of workers’ commitment to good health practices.

Engineer Michael Alfi added that the campaigns resulted in the issuance of 12 violation reports for the destruction of expired products that were unfit for human consumption, in addition to the issuance of 2 violation reports for lack of health and environmental requirements, and the necessary legal measures were taken against the violators.

Michael Alfi continued that there is continuous coordination with the concerned authorities to implement joint campaigns on various food establishments to ensure compliance with health and environmental requirements, and to tighten control in order to preserve the health of citizens and the safety of food traded in local markets.
