The Central Administration for Occupational Safety and Health continued its intensive efforts at the level of the governorates of the Republic, during the period from Thursday, January 22, until Tuesday, January 27, 2026, within the framework of the directives of the Minister of Labor, Mohamed Gibran, to intensify field follow-up work, and to continue implementing the provisions of the Labor Law, with the aim of ensuring that establishments comply with occupational safety and health requirements, protecting the lives of workers and the safety of the work environment, and supporting the national economy.
31 recommendations for closure… and 58 establishments are under legal action
The administration’s statement explained that the inspection work included visiting 874 establishments to ensure that they met occupational safety and health requirements, in addition to re-inspecting 432 establishments that had previously been granted legal deadlines. Efforts resulted in 171 establishments meeting occupational safety and health requirements, while 314 reports were issued for establishments that had not committed to providing the necessary requirements, and 727 establishments were granted new legal deadlines due to their seriousness in fulfilling occupational safety and health requirements.
The statement added that 58 establishments were referred to the directors of the relevant directorates for approval to take the necessary legal measures, in addition to issuing 31 recommendations for closure for establishments that pose a danger to workers or the work environment.
The statement indicated the participation of the Central Administration for Occupational Safety and Health with the General Authority for Industrial Development in 32 inspection committees, during which 91 industrial facilities were visited, within the framework of joint coordination between the concerned authorities, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 15 of 2017, to ensure that occupational safety and health requirements are met as a basic requirement for licensing.
It also participated with the Ministry of Local Development in licensing committees for public stores in accordance with Law No. 154 of 2019, where the administration participated in 113 licensing committees, during which 307 establishments were visited to ensure that occupational safety and health requirements were met in the establishments to be licensed.
The statement continued that occupational safety and health work included, in addition to inspection and re-inspection, the presence of two medical arbitration committees, during which 28 workers’ cases were presented, in addition to the participation of occupational safety and health inspectors in the presence of 89 occupational safety and health committees nationwide, to educate workers and their representatives about occupational safety and health requirements.
Organizing 28 training seminars and awareness initiatives entitled Your Safety is Important to Us
28 training seminars were also organized to educate workers about occupational safety and health requirements and the risks of the work environment, in addition to implementing one initiative entitled “Your Safety is Important to Us” within the framework of the awareness role played by the Ministry of Labor, to raise awareness of the new law and recent ministerial decisions issued regarding occupational safety and health. Seven five-member committees were also attended, during which 47 workers’ cases were presented, with the aim of providing them with reduced work or approving their retirement, within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to protect workers’ rights and achieve a balance between the parties to the production process.
The statement indicated that occupational safety and health inspectors and representatives of the ministry participated in 26 joint inspection campaigns with neighborhoods and various city agencies, during which 248 facilities were inspected.
The Central Administration for Occupational Safety and Health confirmed that these intensive efforts come in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Labor, Mohamed Gibran, on the necessity of continuing to intensify inspection campaigns, spread the culture of occupational safety and health, and reduce accidents and injuries within work sites, in a way that contributes to supporting the stability of the work environment and increasing production rates, and emphasizing that the Ministry of Labor continues to implement the provisions of the Labor Law firmly, in a way that achieves a safe and decent work environment, and protects the rights of the worker and the employer alike.
