Dr. Mahmoud Siddiq, Vice President of the University, said Al-AzharHis Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, held an emergency meeting today with all officials, to find out the incident of the kidnapping of an infant from Al-Hussein Hospital, stressing that the Grand Imam thanked the Ministry of Interior and the security personnel for the effort that was made to return the child.
He confirmed, in statements to Cairo 24, that precautionary measures will be taken, and the presence of women in security 24 hours a day, especially in the obstetrics and gynecology departments, and children’s departments, and the screening of frequenters and dealers, especially in these departments, and the necessity of revealing the identity of people by presenting the national number and verifying the person’s identity.
He explained that there was no negligence on the part of the hospital, and despite that there is currently an administrative investigation inside the hospital, in continuation of the investigations being conducted by the prosecution and the investigations, stressing that this incident will not prevent veiled women from entering the hospital as some say.
