Basma Ahmed explained during her statements to Cairo 24 that the dog is still suffering from bleeding until now, noting that she was transferred to her own shelter to care for it until it is presented to the competent authorities to prove the nature of the incident and whether it has actually been subjected to an attack or not.

She added that she did not say that the dog was raped by 5 people, stressing that what she mentioned was based on the information that was reported to her by the rescue agency that received the dog from the veterinary clinic in Suez, where they told her that the dog was subjected to an immoral assault with anal bleeding, without going into any details related to the number of people or the nature of the incident.
She continued: We are responsible for his care and treatment, and we would like to clarify that we are not responsible for any people who receive donations in his name on social media. Any donations or support will be through Shelter only.

She indicated that, after attempts to transport the dog from Suez to Cairo, she took him to a veterinarian at her personal expense, explaining that the doctor assured her that the health condition the dog was suffering from could have more than one explanation, including that it had been subjected to an unethical attack or that it had been injured as a result of an attack using a sharp object.
Basma Ahmed confirmed that she then transferred the dog to her shelter, where he received the necessary care, pointing out that she is currently bearing the entire cost of his treatment, after she intervened to save his health condition and provide him with the necessary veterinary care.
