Hours later, the Shebin El-Kom Criminal Court begins hearing the trial of the husband accused of ending the life of his wife, known in the media as the Bride of Menoufia, against the backdrop of his accusation of killing her inside the marital home in the village of Mit Barra in the Quesna Center in Menoufia Governorate.
The session is scheduled to be held today, after the court decided during the last session to postpone hearing the case, due to the inability of the accused to arrive from his prison cell to the court headquarters on the specified date, which prevented the trial procedures from being completed at that time.
The events of the incident are due to the security services in Menoufia Governorate receiving a report stating that the body of a newly married woman was found inside her apartment. Upon moving and examination, it was revealed that there was a criminal suspicion, and the accused husband was arrested, who admitted during the investigations that he assaulted his wife by beating him, which resulted in her death.
The investigating authorities had referred the accused to the Criminal Court, after charging him with premeditated murder, against the backdrop of the assault that ended in the death of the victim. Today, the court continues to examine the case and listen to the proceedings of the trial in preparation for its decision.
