The General Union of Applied Health Sciences, headed by Ahmed Al-Sayed Al-Dabiki, the General Syndicate, extended its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Health and Population, and Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Assistant Minister of Health for Institutional Development and the Ministry’s official spokesman, for the official circular issued to the directors of the Directorates of Health Affairs in all governorates, which conclusively and explicitly clarifies the legal status of those holding a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Health Sciences Technology, and their full entitlement to all the legal and employment benefits and rights stipulated in Law No. 14 of the year 2014 and its amendments.

Health obliges the directorates to fully recognize the qualifications equivalent to graduates of applied health sciences

The union stressed that this circular represents an important step in consolidating the principles of the rule of law and job equality, and ending any controversy or differing interpretations regarding the conditions of graduates of applied health sciences technology, who hold accredited or equivalent qualifications from the Supreme Council of Universities, in a way that guarantees their job stability and access to their rights without discrimination.

The General Syndicate explained that this official clarification comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts made by the General Syndicate for Health Sciences, to preserve the rights of its members from the profession in the various governorates of the Republic, noting that the Syndicate has conducted multiple official communications during the last period, in addition to a number of meetings and direct communication with the leaders of the Ministry of Health, to present the correct legal position and defend the legitimate rights of the Syndicate members.

The statement indicated that the circular issued by the Ministry of Health was based on clear legislative texts and stable judicial rulings, which confirmed that the equivalency decision issued by the Supreme Council of Universities creates a complete legal center and obligates all administrative authorities to arrange its functional and financial effects, in a way that ensures complete equality between equivalent qualifications and their university equivalents.

The General Union for Applied Health Sciences has valued this fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Population, and affirms its continued performance of its union and professional role in defending the rights of its members, supporting the stability of the health system, and enhancing the status of members of the Applied Health Sciences, in a way that serves the public interest and is in the interest of developing health services provided to citizens.
