The Ministry of Health and Population directed a circular to the health affairs directorates in all governorates of the Republic, raising the maximum level of readiness in preventive emergency rooms 24 hours a day, coinciding with the advent of Eid al-Fitr, in the context of ensuring public health protection and immediate response to any health developments.
The Ministry stressed, in its circular, obtained by Cairo 24, the necessity of receiving all reports from citizens regarding public health events or the appearance of any disease symptoms or injuries, while quickly directing cases to receive the necessary medical consultations and services, in addition to immediately reporting any suspected cases of infectious diseases to the preventive emergency room in the Ministry’s general office.
The Ministry stressed the importance of raising the degree of preparedness and full readiness of all preventive teams in health directorates and departments, while emphasizing the readiness of rapid response teams (RRT) to intervene immediately in the event of any health emergency, ensuring that the situation is contained and the spread of diseases is prevented.
She also directed the necessity of ensuring the availability of life-saving vaccines and serums, most notably the anti-Membari poisoning serum, with continuous monitoring of their stock in hospitals and affiliated health facilities, noting that the preventive emergency room at the Ministry’s General Office works 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide technical support and deal with any reports.
In a related context, the Ministry stressed the importance of intensifying preventive supervision of health offices, vaccine stores, and cold chains, closely monitoring the temperature of vaccine preservation, and preparing shift schedules for store officials throughout the day, as well as ensuring the efficiency of electrical generators and the availability of the fuel necessary to operate them for a period of no less than 72 hours.
Activate emergency plans
The Ministry also stressed the necessity of activating emergency plans in the event of a power outage, provided that they are announced in clear places for all workers, and include identifying officials and rapid communication mechanisms, to ensure the continuity of providing health services without being affected.
