The Ministry of Health and Population announced its plan to implement 903 free medical convoys in various governorates of the Republic during the first half of 2026.
These convoys aim to provide integrated medical services to citizens, especially in the areas most in need, villages and remote areas, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership and within the framework of the state’s keenness to strengthen the health care system and the “Egypt 2030” vision.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry, explained that each convoy includes all major medical specialties, such as internal medicine, children, nose and ear, orthopedics, surgery, ophthalmia, dentistry, heart, dermatology, and obstetrics and gynecology, in addition to family planning services.
The convoys also include radiology and medical analysis services, and a pharmacy equipped with all necessary medications, with cases requiring surgical operations being transferred to hospitals affiliated with the Ministry.
Free medical convoys in all governorates
Dr. Peter Wagih, Assistant Minister for Clinical Affairs, indicated that the plan covers all governorates with a fair geographical distribution, with a greater focus on governorates such as Assiut, Beheira, New Valley, Minya, Aswan, Menoufia, Alexandria, and Gharbia, in addition to the governorates of Canal, Sinai, Delta, and Upper Egypt.
Dr. Muhammad Ghobashi, Director General of the General Administration of Medical Convoys, confirmed that convoys have been allocated to border governorates such as North and South Sinai, the Red Sea, and Matrouh, to ensure that health services reach citizens in remote and border areas.
The Ministry confirms the continued development of the medical convoy system in terms of equipment and human resources, with the aim of improving public health indicators and achieving sustainable development goals.
It is noteworthy that the dates and locations of the convoys will be announced successively through the Ministry’s official channels, in order to ensure the safety of citizens and facilitate access to services.
