Taher Abaza, a family member of the late artist Rushdi Abaza, responded to the statements of the artist Ahmed Abdullah Mahmoud after the recent controversy on social media pages.
Taher Abaza said, during a telephone interview on a television program: The late artist married my mother and raised me during childhood, and she was his last wife before his death.
Taher Abaza: Rushdi Abaza was interested in his work and married my mother to live a quiet family life
He added that the marriage between them took place out of love so that he could live a family life within a family, continuing: Rushdi Abaza raised me perfectly and there were many situations that brought me together with him.
Taher Abaza continued: Rushdi was very chivalrous, and he was from an ancient family, and he had morals and behaviors that he was raised on. He married Tahiya Karioka, then he married a second time to Samia Gamal, and the third time to the mother of his only daughter, Qismat, then to the artist Sabah for a short period, and in the end he married my mother after the death of my father.
Taher Abaza expressed his dissatisfaction with the statements of the artist Ahmed Abdullah Mahmoud, which he made in one of the television interviews, explaining that the deceased cared about his work, and was not polygamous, as Ahmed indicated in his statements.
