Since the start of the recent escalation in the region, Cairo has affirmed on several occasions its emphasis on supporting its brothers, its categorical rejection of Iranian attacks against the Gulf states, and the importance of activating the concept of joint Arab security in light of the recent escalation taking place in the region.

The last of these occasions was the call that brought together President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi with Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, where the President of the Republic expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with the State of Kuwait and all Gulf states in facing the current challenges, stressing that the security of the Arabian Gulf represents an integral part of Egyptian national security, and that Egypt will not hesitate to provide all forms of support to maintain the stability of the region.

President Sisi stressed – during the call – the continuation of intensive Egyptian movements at the international and regional levels to stop the escalation and create the appropriate conditions to restore security and peace.

The official spokesman said that the Emir of Kuwait appreciated Egypt’s steadfast position in support of Gulf security, expressing his deep appreciation for President Sisi and his keenness to enhance coordination and continuous consultation between the two countries. In a way that serves the interests of the Arab nation and prevents the widening of the circle of conflicts.

The spokesman pointed out that the call also addressed the importance of enhancing joint Arab cooperation and activating the concept of collective national security. This ensures the protection of Arab countries from any external threats, and strengthens Arab unity in facing regional and international challenges.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, also made a telephone call to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the sister Kingdom of Bahrain. The President of the Republic stressed the Egyptian position rejecting the Iranian attacks on Bahrain, affirming Egypt’s full solidarity with the Kingdom and with all Gulf states in facing the current challenges, and its readiness to provide all forms of necessary support to preserve the security and stability of the region.

The official spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, said that the President of the Republic made clear – during the call – that Egypt continues its intensive contacts and movements at the international and regional levels to stop the war as soon as possible, praising the Bahraini role in supporting efforts to calm the situation and maintain regional stability.

King Hamad bin Isa expressed his deep appreciation to President Sisi for his firm stance in support of Bahrain and the Gulf states, stressing the Kingdom’s keenness on continuous coordination with Egypt and the Arab brothers to avoid further escalation and work to end the war quickly.

The President of the Republic stressed that Gulf security is an integral part of Egyptian national security, and that Egypt believes that the Arab destiny is one, calling for strengthening cooperation and joint action to confront current challenges and activating the concept of collective Arab national security to ensure the protection of Arab countries from any external attacks.

Yesterday, the President made a phone call with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the call dealt with current regional developments, as the President affirmed Egypt’s absolute support and solidarity with the sisterly government and people of the United Arab Emirates, in facing the current challenges, stressing that Egypt categorically rejects and condemns the Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and the security of the Arab Gulf states, and that it is ready to provide all possible forms of support in order to preserve the stability of the region. He also indicated that Egypt is intensifying its efforts and movements at the international and regional levels in an effort to stop the war as soon as possible, praising the responsible Emirati role in supporting efforts to calm the situation and enhance stability.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesman, indicated that the President praised the measures taken by the UAE to contain the current escalation and maintain regional stability. The two leaders also agreed on the necessity of seeking to reduce the current escalation and spare the region from further tension and instability. For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast and supportive positions towards the Gulf states, stressing the UAE’s keenness to continue close coordination with Egypt and the sisterly Arab countries to avoid further escalation and work to end the war as quickly as possible, praising also the established fraternal relations that bring together the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.

The official spokesman added that the President stressed during the call that Egypt sees the security of the Gulf as an integral part of its national security, and that the common destiny requires strengthening Arab cooperation and uniting ranks to confront the current challenges, stressing the importance of consolidating the concept of collective Arab national security in a way that guarantees the protection of Arab countries from any threats or attacks.
