Badawi Rahban, a climate change consultant, said that the problem of water scarcity represents a major challenge for the countries concerned, especially countries in the Middle East such as Iraq, stressing the need to deal with this issue seriously over the coming decades and not just the coming years.

During his television interview, Rahban added that climate change is a key factor in the exacerbation of the water crisis, noting that Iraq has been suffering from a lack of water resources for more than a decade, and not only in recent years.
He stressed that the time has come to take radical measures to address this crisis, considering that solutions must be multifaceted and include a package of policies and initiatives, explaining that this comprehensive approach is also followed in other countries and regions around the world to confront the challenges of water scarcity and climate change, which highlights the importance of solidarity and exchange of international experiences.
