The company was held Holding Company for Drinking Water And sanitation, today, Thursday, the general assemblies of 6 subsidiaries: Alexandria Water, Alexandria Sanitation, Beheira, Greater Cairo Sanitation, Cairo Drinking Water, and Giza, via video conference technology, headed by Engineer Ahmed Gaber Shehata, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company and Chairman of the General Assembly of Drinking Water and Sanitation Companies, within the framework of the directives of the Engineer, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities.

This came in the presence of representatives of the Central Auditing Organization, and the Vice-Chairmen of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater: Dr. Salah Bayoumi, Major General Engineer Assem Shukr, and Dr. Abu Abbas Issa, in addition to members of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company, to discuss the financial statements and final accounts for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2025.

The General Assemblies agreed to approve the financial statements and final accounts of the aforementioned companies, after reviewing the agenda and the observations of the Central Auditing Organization, while recommending that companies take the necessary measures to avoid those observations and strengthen internal control systems.

Engineer Ahmed Jaber Shehata thanked the representatives of the Central Auditing Organization for the technical comments that contribute to improving the performance of drinking water and wastewater companies, stressing the importance of the agency’s supervisory role, and the necessity of cooperation and integration between the various state institutions to support the development of services provided to citizens.

The Chairman of the Holding Company stressed the importance of raising the performance efficiency of all subsidiaries by developing the services provided, increasing the production capacity of the stations, maximizing the utilization of assets, applying standard operating systems for the stations, completing the equipment of laboratories with the latest equipment, in addition to developing commercial branches and customer service centers in a way that contributes to improving the level of service.

Engineer Ahmed Jaber stressed that the quality of drinking water represents a red line that cannot be tolerated, stressing that the Holding Company applies an integrated system to monitor water quality that includes the Holding Company’s reference laboratory, the central laboratories of the subsidiary companies, and the station laboratories, in addition to the mobile laboratories, in a way that ensures monitoring of water quality in all stages of production and distribution and ensuring its conformity with standard and health specifications.

He also stressed the importance of activating collection procedures and reducing the percentage of unaccounted for water (wast), through expanding the installation of prepaid meters, confronting illegal connections, and implementing standard maintenance work for stations, cranes, and networks.

He pointed out that the holding company has developed an integrated plan to reduce waste at the level of subsidiaries, and it is followed up periodically and at the highest levels, ensuring increased operating efficiency, maximizing the use of water resources, and maximizing revenues.

The Chairman of the Holding Company pointed out the necessity of developing the performance of the subsidiary companies at the administrative and technical levels, activating measures to rationalize energy consumption and expanding the use of renewable energy sources, within the framework of the directions of the state and the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities towards improving the efficiency of drinking water and sanitation facilities and raising the level of services provided to citizens.

At the conclusion of the meetings, Engineer Ahmed Jaber directed the heads of the subsidiary companies to intensify efforts to ensure the provision of distinguished services to citizens, enhance cooperation with executive authorities in the governorates, and continuously communicate with citizens and quickly respond to complaints received through hotlines and various communication channels.
