The details of the story go back to Dr. Salma, 26 years old, who has dual German and Bosnian citizenship, who met Muhammad Akmal (22 years old) from the village of Divar in the Mandi Bahauddin region, while they were playing the game Roblox online. What started as passing conversations inside a gaming platform, turned within about five months into a serious emotional relationship.
In television statements, Akmal explained that communication between them continued on a regular basis despite language difficulties at the beginning, stressing that the relationship developed gradually until he decided to propose marriage to her, and after a short period of arrangements, Salma traveled to Pakistan to complete the marriage officially.
For her part, Salma indicated that the language barrier was not a real obstacle to the development of the relationship, explaining that the simplicity of communication at the beginning increased the depth of trust between them.
She added that upon her arrival she was surprised by the rural lifestyle, as she first encountered new daily experiences such as traditional household chores and bread making, but she accepted it with a positive spirit.
Salma confirmed that she is happy with her new life, considering that cultural difference is a natural part of the experience, and that she chose to coexist with it out of conviction and love. She also revealed her intention to settle in Pakistan permanently.
In turn, Akmal explained that the marriage took place with the full approval and support of the families of both parties, pointing out that the cost of the marriage and travel amounted to about 4.5 million Pakistani rupees.
To enhance her integration into the local community, Salma began learning the Urdu and Punjabi languages, with the aim of communicating better with her husband’s family and the people of the village, in a move that reflects her serious desire to build a stable and shared life.
