Sold out Sohag University An advanced field training program was held for students of the fourth year of the Railway Technology Program at the Faculty of Technology and Education, inside the metro workshops in Cairo, in an experience considered the first of its kind at the university level, as part of its keenness to combine academic aspects with practical application within actual work sites.

Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, said that the training program targeted 40 students, and comes within the university’s plan to enhance applied education and qualify graduates who possess advanced practical skills, in a way that supports the technological education system and contributes to implementing the state’s vision for developing the transportation sector, noting that the training included studying the components of metro trains, and learning about the safety and security systems in place within the vital facility.
In the same context, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahim, Dean of the College of Technology and Education, explained that the program lasted for four days inside the metro workshops on the first and second lines, and the training included learning about the “semaphore” signaling systems, and the electro-pneumatic feeding systems, in addition to the third line, which operates with different electrical technologies, in a way that enhances the students’ technical capabilities and prepares them for the labor market in the fields of smart transportation.
For his part, Dr. Muayyad Muhammad, Coordinator of the Railway Technology Program, indicated that the program was carefully prepared to provide students with direct exposure to the real work environment, and to learn about the latest methods and technologies used in operating and maintaining the metro, stressing that this experience contributes to raising the students’ professional readiness and reflects the success of training cooperation with specialized authorities.
