Today, Saturday, January 10, 2026, several areas affiliated with the center and city of Al-Manzala in Dakahlia Governorate are witnessing a cut in drinking water, in addition to a weakness in water pumping in the city of Matareya, for a period of up to 12 continuous hours.
For 12 hours…Dakahlia witnesses a water outage in some areas
The Dakahlia Water and Sanitation Company reported that the outage begins at eight in the morning and continues until eight in the evening, noting that the affected areas include the local unit in Amarna, the local unit in Al-Houta, and the local unit in Asafra, while the city of Matareya is affected by a noticeable decrease in water pressure during the same period.
The company explained that this measure comes in conjunction with the implementation of necessary technical and maintenance works, which include connecting a main expulsion line with a diameter of 600 mm – the fifth – to the Al-Gamaleya facility, as part of the plan to develop the water network infrastructure and improve its operational efficiency.
The Dakahlia Water Company confirmed that these works aim to support the stability of the service in the long term and reduce emergency breakdowns in the future, noting that the works will be completed according to the specified timetable, with water gradually re-pumped once completed.
The company called on citizens, and all government and service agencies, especially hospitals and bakeries, to take the necessary precautions and provide their drinking water needs during the outage period, until service returns to normal.
