Eyewitnesses from the Al-Safina Batukh area in Qalyubia Governorate revealed that the accident of containers falling from the goods train occurred while most of the people were in their homes due to the extreme cold. They heard a strong impact on the railway track, and when they left, they found the containers had entered some homes and were flying and smashing the iron fence surrounding them. The accident also caused the crash of one of the cars parked next to the fence.

Eyewitnesses added to Cairo 24 that the sound was so similar to an earthquake that the people left their homes, noting that the flying containers and dense dust blocked the view as they fell on the houses, which sparked panic among the residents.

Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia, directed a technical committee to quickly call for a technical committee to ensure the structural safety of real estate at the site of an accident where containers fell from a freight train in the Al-Safina area in the city of Toukh, while emphasizing that there were no casualties, and that follow-up would continue until all procedures were completed.

The initial inspection revealed that 5 to 6 containers fell from the top of a freight train at the Toukh station in Qalyubia, without any casualties. It was also found that part of the railway fence collapsed, leading to damage to 2 balconies and the staircase of one of the houses, without human casualties.

Major General Mohamed Al-Sayed, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department in Qalyubia, and Major General Wael Metwally, Chief of Investigations of the Directorate, received a notification from Lieutenant Colonel Mustafa Kamel, Chief of Investigations at Toukh Police Station, stating that a report had been received of containers loaded on a train overturning in front of the village of Al-Safaina, which led to damage to a number of homes without recording any injuries.
